Increase your chances - get in early

Applications for the 2012 fair open in October so please make a diary note to come back and apply. If you are a first time applicant, early application could increase your chances of gaining a position.

Stall allocations

Previous stall holders are always given priority access to the sites they occupied the previous year, so we place them first, but from the 1st of November, all remaining stall sites are allocated on a first-come first-served basis.  We start with last year's stallholders who want to move, and then evaluate and place new applicants.

You snooze - you lose!

Stallholders who miss a fair without negotiating a leave of absence for extreme difficulty (as the Christchurch disasters for instance), lose the priority consideration to the site they may have held even if they have held it for some time. This has a positive effect for others as it opens the way for new stallholders to be included and for those who wish to change sites to move around.

Knowledge is power

In order to give yourself the best chance of gaining a first time stall at the fair, make sure your application gives us a clear idea of what you are proposing and what it will look like.  Our decisions are governed by the desire to provide an interesting, eclectic and fun-filled day for our fairgoers.
